This Winemaker Dinner is sure to be a highlight of your festival weekend! Or your visit to Crested Butte. Or your date with that special someone if you can get a babysitter. Ever creative Chef Dave Wooding is joined by some of Denver's top chefs to develop an amazing multi-course meal for you at a private residence. In addition to the champion lineup of savory chefs, this event includes a pastry chef to provide you with the sweet side of life. Wines from Blanchard Family Wines will be carefully selected to pair with each course.

Providing another layers of art and refinement will be award-winning pianist Elaine Kwon, who will work with Mark Blanchard to pair musical pieces with the wine and food being tasted. This promises to be an unforgettable dining experience!

Although this event is part of the Crested Butte Wine & Food Festival, it stands alone and you do not need a special festival pass to attend.

FEATURED WINERY: BLANCHARD FAMILY WINES
Blanchard Family Wines is a family owned wine label formed to express two brother’s vision of the uniting qualities of great wine. James and Mark Blanchard’s dream is to offer artisan selections that truly showcase a sense of place, and exhibit boutique wine making techniques. Sourced from top vineyards in Sonoma County, the brothers work closely with growers with the same focus and passion for quality. All wines are handcrafted in a small facility, creating elegant wines in limited quantities. Most wines are either 100% varietal or single-vineyard products.

FEATURED WINERY: CAKEBREAD CELLARS
Since its founding in 1973 by Jack and Dolores, Cakebread Cellars has been famous for its warm, gracious hospitality and unmatched wines. With an enduring commitment to quality, the belief that life’s occasions are elevated by good people, good food, and good wine flows through everything we do. Sharing these tenets and this journey with you not only brings us great joy, but also gives us the motivation to always look to improve. We take great pride in sharing our family with your family.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE FROM ELAINE KWON
Listen, Taste, Experience! Savor Your Senses® brings award winning concert pianist Elaine Kwon together with Mark and James Blanchard to pair musical pieces with specific wines and food based on such aspects as mood and origin. What does a Rachmaninoff prelude taste like? How does your favorite Burgundy wine sound? The social concert of listening and tasting incites lively conversations around the pairings, with opportunities to hear the stories of the musician and winemakers. Elaine Kwon holds a doctorate in music and is a lecturer at MIT. She has performed as a solo artist with numerous orchestras, including the National Music Festival Orchestra and the Toronto Philharmonia, as well as headlining sold-out benefit concerts at Carnegie Hall. Elaine has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show and has been broadcast from the U.S. to China to Bulgaria. MORE ABOUT ELAINE

 CHEF BIOS
David Wooding has gained a reputation for elevating "normal" cuisine, recreating it to be as exciting as it is accessible. Previously as Executive Chef at Maxwell’s, Chef de Cuisine at the Lobar, and Executive Chef at the Secret Stash and The Red Room, David is a daring chef. He thrives on spontaneity driven by freshness, his imagination excelling as his dishes take on additional French, Italian, and Nouveau American airs. Formally, Chef David attended the Johnson County School where he studied Culinary Arts. He additionally served with Chef Michael Turner of the Classic Cup and Linda Dewar of JJ's, both in Kansas City.
